Thoughts for the Day July 6, 2020

We are cleaning out my parent’s house and going through each  room trying to determine who should get what. For the most part, it has been easy. Various things have value to each of us, but there was one prized possession several of us wanted…Mom’s Bible. It is torn and tattered, written in, and highlighted. She loved God’s word  and it became even more evident as we found countless notebooks filled with Scripture verses and  numerous  handwritten notes. I couldn’t help but think of the legacy momma left behind.  I wonder if my children will see my Bible as s prized possession when they go through my things?

“I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did…I am reminded
of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois
and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you
           also.”  II Timothy 1: 3, 5
