Lamp to My Feet

Thoughts for the Day July 18, 2020

This week we have focused on the value of learning and committing  to memory the word of God.  Mickey Brown shared with me how this process  has deepened  her walk with our Lord. She said  that after she lost her husband she realized her relationship was Christ was not what it should be. She said that she knew how to serve Him and worship Him, but  “didn’t  know how to love him as she should.” She said her heart was  searching and tender at that time and she was open to  hearing His voice. She said it was if He said, “ the only way  to truly come to know and  love Me is through learning My word.” She tells me that this experience of delving in and really learning His word has been life-changing. The greatest way to understand God’s character and will for our lives is by studying His word. In this discovery, we will find comfort as His Word becomes “a light unto our feet and a lamp unto our path.”

“Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
          Psalms 119: 105.
