Thoughts for the Day, July 22, 2020

 

Today we look at another verse that encourages strength and courage. While in prison in a Roman jail, Paul encourages his timid mentee and laborer in Christ with these words, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline”( 2 Timothy 1:7).  Let’s remember that like Timothy, we have a permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God, who has gifted us with  the power we need for life and godliness, no matter how difficult or dangerous life in this world may become.
